I'm an independent traveller who has spent years exploring France and Scandinavia, and Hotel Savoie Guide grew out of a frustration I kept running into: choosing where to stay in the Alps is genuinely hard.

Booking sites will tell you a hotel is "close to the slopes." They won't tell you it's a seven-minute walk uphill in ski boots, or that the spa closes at 19:00 when you come off the mountain at 17:30. Those are the details that decide whether a week works.

So I built the guide I wanted. Every page here is built from a verified fact sheet — measured distances, confirmed spa hours, parking prices, which rooms to request and which to avoid — drawn from official hotel information, resort operators, mapped routes, and recurring patterns across hundreds of guest reviews.

Where I haven't stayed somewhere myself, I say so. Where information can change, I date it.

I don't sell rooms and I don't take reservations. Some outbound booking links earn a commission, which is what keeps the guide free — but no hotel pays to appear here.

What this site is not

Hotel Savoie Guide is not a hotel. Several real properties share a similar name — Hôtel Le Savoie in Val d'Isère, Les Ducs de Savoie, Hôtel de Savoie in Annecy — and if you are looking for one of those, this is not their website.

This is an independent editorial guide covering accommodation across the Savoie and Haute-Savoie départements.
